Who we are
ColdStart is a small software service run from Canada by an independent founder, operating as "ColdStart". You can reach us at support@usecoldstart.com.
What ColdStart does
ColdStart finds companies that may need your product, using public information such as job posts and company directories, and drafts outreach emails for you to review. You decide whether and how to contact anyone. Results are suggestions: company data, job posts and AI-written drafts can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, so check them before you rely on them.
Your responsibilities
- Use ColdStart lawfully. If you send email to people you find here, follow the anti-spam laws that apply to you, such as Canada's CASL and the US CAN-SPAM Act: identify yourself, include a way to opt out, and honour opt-outs.
- Don't use ColdStart to harass anyone, to send bulk unsolicited email, or to scrape or resell our data.
- Don't try to get around search limits, break the service, or access other people's accounts or restore links.
Plans and payment
The free tier includes a small number of searches. The Founder plan is a subscription billed monthly or yearly until you cancel; it includes 40 fresh searches per billing period, which don't roll over. Sprint packs are one-time purchases of 20 searches that don't expire while ColdStart operates. Searches served from results we already have don't count. Prices are shown before you pay, plus any applicable taxes. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
Cancelling
You can cancel the Founder plan anytime from Plan, then Manage billing. It stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, and isn't renewed after that. Refunds follow our Refund policy.
Founding price
The first 10 paying Founder customers keep their starting price for as long as their subscription stays active. If you cancel and later re-subscribe, the current price applies.
Shared lists
If you share a list, anyone with its link can see the companies, job posts and reasons on it. Your email drafts, contacts and notes are never included.
Availability and changes
We work to keep ColdStart running but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change features, limits or prices; price changes for an active subscription take effect at the next renewal after we give you notice. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, ColdStart is provided "as is", and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
